Run

The Earth is large - large enough that one thinks that he can hide from everything. Hide from fate, hide from life, hide from destiny - if only there was a place that was far enough away. So you run. To the edge of the world where it is safe again - safe, quiet and warm in the solace of salt air. The peace of knowing the dangers left behind; the luxury of feeling grief. And maybe, for a fleeting moment, you believe you have actually escaped. You can run far. You can take your small precautions, but have you really gotten away? Can you ever escape? Is the world smaller that you think? Or is the truth that you do not have the strength or cunningness to hide from destiny? But the world is not small, you are. And fate can find you anywhere in the world.
When confronted with our worst fears, the choices are limited: Fight or flight. The rush of pure adrenaline, the smell of destiny hot on you heels. We hope to find the strength to stand against and face our fears but sometimes, despite ourselves, we run. What if the nightmares give chase? Where on Earth can we hide then?
To survive in this world, we hold close to us those people on whom we can depend on. We trust in them our hopes, our fears, everything. But what happens when trust is lost? Where do we run to when things we believe in vanish before our very eyes? When all seems lost, the future unknowable, our very existence in peril, all that we can do ... is run.
